Tooling for B-52 Engine Replacement

Gordon & Gordon Engineering performed the design review and South Carolina PE approval for tooling designed by Models & Tools, Inc. to support the US Air Force’s Boeing B-52 Stratofortress Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP) where the aging Pratt & Whitney TF33-P-3 turbofans on 76 B-52H aircraft are being replaced by Rolls-Royce North America F130 engines, which will redesignate the aircraft as B-52J. The tooling involved a combination of new fixtures thoughtfully integrated with repurposed existing tools and platforms.
